More Than Housing — A Mission Built on People
Hello, and welcome! I'm Ithica Walker, and I am a mobile home specialist and affordable housing advocate based in Atlanta, Georgia. My work sits at the intersection of two things I believe in deeply: education and access. This school year marks my 20th year as a career educator — two decades spent in classrooms, in hallways, and in the lives of students who needed someone in their corner. That experience taught me something that no textbook could — that safe, stable housing is the foundation upon which everything else in a person's life is built.
My love for affordable housing was cultivated early. Growing up, I watched my uncle serve families and individuals across Athens, GA — connecting them to clean, safe, and affordable places to call home via apartments and mobile homes. What I witnessed was not just property management; it was transformation. He showed me that one person with a heart for service could shift the trajectory of an entire community. That vision followed me, and it ultimately led me here.
"I have spent my career opening doors — first in the classroom, and now in communities across the Atlanta metro area."
Atlanta is a city of remarkable reach. It sprawls and it breathes, and I know its landscape well — from one neighborhood to the next, each with its own needs, its own families, its own stories. My goal is to meet people where they are. I work with seniors seeking stability in their retirement years, individuals rebuilding their lives after challenging seasons, families navigating credit barriers, and single individuals who simply need a fair chance at a safe place to live. I believe in housing for everyone — no exceptions.
Academic Background
My academic background deepens that commitment. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and African American Studies and a Master's degree in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), and I am certified in both Spanish and ESOL instruction. These credentials are not incidental to my housing work — they are central to it. They allow me to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking families, to understand the cultural and linguistic barriers that so often stand between immigrant and non-English-speaking communities and the resources they deserve, and to serve with both fluency and genuine cultural competency. I am also currently pursuing my certification as a mobile home broker — because I believe that doing this work well means being credentialed in every dimension of it.
Building Today, Serving Tomorrow
Currently, I own and operate a duplex that provides affordable housing to two families. I also bring the same commitment I showed my students — connecting them to colleges, two-year institutions, certifications, and career pathways — to connecting community members with housing opportunities that match their needs and their budget. Whether that means homeownership, affordable rentals, or rooming homes, I am building a portfolio of solutions designed to serve, not just sell.
"You are not just a client. You are someone whose needs matter."
A future where home is possible for everyone
Clean, safe, and affordable housing is a needed. Incorporating communities such seniors, those rebuilding after life's hardest chapters, immigrant and non-English-speaking families, households facing credit and financial barriers, and more must be considered. Drawing on twenty years as an educator, fluency in Spanish, and a Master's in ESOL, I connect people not just to properties, but to stability, dignity, and a genuine place to belong. I work with integrity, lead with compassion, and believe that every person deserves a place they can call home.
Built on Service, Grounded in Care
I know what it means to show up for people. For twenty years I have shown up for my students, and today I show up for the families in my duplex — making sure their homes are clean, safe, and affordable. That same care, that same commitment, is exactly what I bring to every person I serve. You are not just a client. You are someone whose needs matter.
